Default Pulley Opinions

I have been considering getting an ASP pulley for about 6 months now but haven't made up my mind nor have I recieved any valuable opinions about pulleys and possible gains. My mods are in the sig and car will get dyno'ed in less than a month. Future plans are 125 shot and LS6 heads. I have outrun a 390hp SS by almost a car length before and we both had a great start from a roll, which leads me to believe my car is making close to 385 or so at the wheels now. Has anyone dyno'ed before and after underdrive pulley? Would any of you like to share your opinion of wether or not its worth the money? All replys appriciated.

Do it, it is really worth it. I felt a difference hp wise, and also the engine revs faster. Plus it will probably cut down on the wear on accessories.

Well, my acc. have a good bit of wear on them anyway. My car just turned over 115K. Almost all of them are highway miles though.

My alternator dropped within a few weeks of installing my UD pulley, so be prepared to buy a new one. With the small amount of current these alternators produce, I think making an old one work harder at lower RPMs is like driving the final nail in the coffin. I had a little over 110k miles on my alternator when I put the UD pulley on.

I went with the SLP (AKA Powerbond) myself. I liked the raised walls, should help keep it from throwing a belt.

I have a dyno somewhere at home that shows it added 10 rwhp 10 rwtq, just the 25% pulley.

I got the SLP on clearance from them this last summer. It is the powerbond and it seems to be a nicely made piece.

took me about a hour so to get the old one off and the new on.
