Default help! cant get ls1 intake off!

Im putting an ls6 intake on and i cant get the old one off. I've got all the bolts either out or loose, and they arent the problem. I've been following the ls1howto page. I've got the harness off the back of the intake. I cant pull the manifold out. It wont move forward hardly at all. It feels like something is still connected to the back of it. I go to pull it out and it kinda springs back, like its a hose, but i dont think that little hose could do that. Is there something else in the way???? I wish i could just see whats back there! The egr system is off, but the AIR is still on.

It feels like something that will give a little, but i dont want to force anything. The front of the manifold will lift up, and i can kinda lift the rear up. I can move the front of it to the left and right, but the back just wants to sit still.

Once the 10 bolts are out and the map sensor is unplugged, and the vac line is off is should come out right?

yeah it should come off, watch out for the oil pressure sender on the back. What could be holding it up is the brake booster hose, it gets caught on a bunch of stuff back there.

it kinda feels like something to the back left of the manifold, as in passenger side.

It really feels like something is still connected to the back of it. Not like a bolt that wont let go, but like something tight. I can maybe get it to move forward a 1/4 inch before it feels like its getting caught.

How bout the wire looms that run parallel to the fuel rails... should those be disconected from the fuel rails?

did you get the vacume line entirely off? there is a few ways it all comes together behind the manifold. from the pass and the driver should be free'd. the brake booster hose also gave me alil trouble, i had to snake it out through the wires hose etc back there..

Okay...got it! It was a combination of things. The insulated pipe on the passenger side was still in place...couldnt tell that it needed to come off (print off pics suck!), and the wiring harnesses needed to be disconected from the fuel rails. DONE! Now its out! Thanks everyone!!!!

it doesnt take much for me to feel stupid. If i had only looked at the pics very closely on the ls1howto i could have been much farther now. Keep in mind to those who have yet to do this: The howto doesnt say very clearly to disconect the fuel injector harness...yes it says to take off each little plug from the 8 injectors, but it doesnt clearly state to remove the entire harness from the manifold...same goes with the bottom line on the throttle body...make sure that mother f^!ker is disconected from the side of the manifold as well. Yes these are all no brainers, now that i have seen them...but if you've never done it, working on something that pokes the back of the radio and is mostly outa sight is a pain in the ***....but no where near as fun as motor mounts!!
