The hooker is probably quieter and more defined than the likes of the loudmouth series for sure.

hooker catback i currently have a loudmouth2 on my 00 ta and i am tired of it being so loud and the drone when crusing down the road so i found a pretty good deal on a hooker and im curious of what kinda power loss or restriction will i get when i put the hooker on vs the LM and how much difference is it in the sound of the hooker and the magnaflow

I think that the magnaflow sounds better. As far as flow goes. It really won't make too much of a difference. You will still get the scavenging you need to have good power. You are not going to go down on power, and it certainly will not feel like it. If you do it would be +/-3 rwhp/rwtq.

I hav ethe full Hooker Exhaust. It is just a tad quieter then the LM on stock manifolds. As previosly stated, the power loss is very minimal ... you probably won't even feel it. It is a good sounding exhaust and I have been happy with it for over 5 years. Granted, it is not a loud exhaust system, but a very refined, muscular sound.

When I dynoed my car i lost 2rwhp with the hooker catback compared to open header. I have had it on my personal car for over 3 years now and would not put anything else on there.

I picked up a about 8 RWHP opening the cutout in my Hooker exhaust. I've not heard the Magnaflow in person, but from what I've heard online it seems the Hooker produces a mellow sound while the Magnaflow is a bit throatier. I guess it comes down to personal preference.
I went from a Loudmouth to true duals to the Hooker and the Hooker is definitely the most pleasant from inside the cabin.
Probably the most significant difference between the Hooker and Magnaflow is the fact that the Hooker isn't stainless steel like the Magnaflow (that's my understanding, at least).

The LM2 is not that loud on stock manifolds and cats, and the Hooker is VERY quiet on stock manifolds and cats. The hooker sounds decent behind the car, but is very quiet inside the car. I would not go with the Hooker with your setup unless you want a car that is almost as quiet as stock.
on a h/c cam auto 4000 stall car cutout at y pipe vs going through hooker made less then a .1 difference between 10 runs on the same day... and it sounds very good at WOT. makes even large cammed cars sound not so radical (but still mean) which is good around here with cops.

So what if its a little quiet. Its makes up for that with being able to grow as your get more modded & the sound just keeps getting better. Not to mention since it flows so great, you never have to worry about changing your exhaust later.
To me thats money well spent. I personally plan to keep my Hooker till it wears out & then put in a new one.
