Default Ugh... just ordered cats

Ok well i bit the bug and decided to get cats for my tru duals... I know it is the "right" thing to do cause i dont want to be breakin any federal laws and i live in VA with emissions laws up the ***... but im just so afraid it will take away power and sound . I got the metallic spun magnaflow cats, 2.5 in/out cause my exhaust is gonna be 2.5 inch piping. Someone tell me i did the right thing!!

you did the right thing. I too went from no cats to cats. At times I I've been very sad and regret it, but then other times when a cop is behind me at a light, and I know he can't smell the reek of my gasoline, it comforts me

Thanks, how much of a difference was it? Huge, or semi noticeable?

I think cats will help to improve the sound as they are well-known for cutting down rasp. Will be a little quieter but not much.

Im pretty sure this wont be enforced if i have cats at all... its not california, lol. They will be right after the LT's tho. Bullets will be after the axle, but im wondering if it would take away less sound if the bullets were before the axle, or does it even matter? The bullets will be dynomax race bullets btw. So im hoping that'll make up for the cats... previous to this setup i have had flowmaster 80 series...

That is the ONLY reason why I keep my cats. I want to go TD, and I will have cats to keep my car from smelling.

I live in CT, very strict on emissions, we have cops dedicated to inspection/emissions. Most places that do the testing dont care for the placement but rather if it passes or not.

You did the right thing hands down. If you look at the science behind cats, they're amazing little devices.

Your sound will probably go down a little, but the quality of your sound will go up a lot.

Win/Win.

You made an effort, and did the right thing.

Don;t worry about where they are, the governement should be happy you did anything at all. Don't give into the police state they're forcing on us.

How much did they run you? I am looking at doing the same thing to tone mine down a bit. Either that or swapping mufflers. But it's said that hi-flow cats might steal ~5 horse or so. So I'm not too worried about that.

Thanks ... And the cats ran me 179 shipped from EAD performance, which is a great price IMO. sponser here ---> look under "universal" then magnaflow. They are all listed there.
