Default 6.0 liter throttle Body on LS1?

I bought the book HOW TO BUILD HIGH PERFORMANCE CHEVY LS1/LS6 V8's by WillHandzel. It says that you can replace your early 75mm LS1 throttle body with a 6.0 liter LQ4 80mm throttle body for more airflow on a LS1. Is this true? Has anyone tried it? Or know anyone that has attempted to install the 6.0 liter Throttle body on there LS1? Thanks.

I got a hold of a 6.0 liter LQ4 VIN U throttle body out of a 05 Chevy Express Van that has a 6.0 liter in it. Please let me know the pro' and con's of this. Thanks. Measured the throttle body with a micrometer it measured 74.85mm? Is this right? So its just a 75mm throttle body like my stock throttle body?

Or am I just better off buying a Shaner S3 throttle body?

port it....take your dremel, port your 75mm and you can get it around a 78mm area....save you a good bit of money

Is the body 80 mm or the blade opening 80 mm? That would make a difference because even on a ported stock throttle body the blade opening stays consistant, it doesn't get ported. Although I don't know how much it would help anyway, because of the standard (how wide?) opening to the ls6 intake manifold...

fellas look at how much work yall will be doing for less then 2mm's....you can port out the stock pretty thin....you could also just go get a bbk 80mm tb....and not deal with adapting the throttle cables and some other things
