Default KOOKS Catted Y

I orderd my kooks 1 3/4 long tubes with a kooks catted Y ( im in CA so i dont want to risk it with an ORY) My question is does anyone else have this settup, and if so have you had a problem with your Y-pipe hitting or rubbing under the car in any place?

My friend has that setup with GMMG and it all fits/works perfect.

You're still going to fail California inspection simply because you have LT's. Cats or not.

Mine hits sometimes. New motor and tranny mounts helped a lot but still happens occasionally.

I have a smogshop that will pass me so thats not a problem. the reason im getting a catted Y is because every time ive been pulled over and also been pulled over in my friends cars, the cops always look to see if you have cats, a couple of cops have told me that they can overlook having longtubes, but having not cats is just asking for it.

unfortunately, i have the same setup as you,but mine is stepped to 1 7/8.it hits all the time. drives me nuts. also have the same setup with my 2000 z-28(1 3/4)headers,with no problem at all. not sure if the header is hitting the k-member or the y-pipe is hitting the floor board under my ***! had a real bitch of a time getting the driver side header in.had to jack the engine up about 2-3 inches, remove the motor mount to get the header in.

If you have a stock k-member with the 1-7/8 headers, I can almost promise they are hitting on the passenger side. Here's how I had to grind mine to get my 1-7/8 Kooks to fit....

I switched to 1 7/8" kooks from 1 3/4" kooks about a month and a half ago and had no fitment issues or hitting at all with the stock k-member. While installing them the driver side header needed some persausion to be pushed up into place, but the passenger side slid right in.
