will i need some help on what plugs to buy for my car.the car has LT and some little things

tr55's fer sure dude ~~!!!! If you're gonna spray TR6. That's all you need to know, forget other plugs exist

why does the dealership say to gap .40, i know so many people are gapping at .55
and which plugs are the factory, because they said it would be $70 and last 100k miles

NGK TR55's on my car. its been a year since i put them on. i think i gapped mine at 55

this is crazy, i read that the gap was supposed to be set at .060, and the dealer said .040 so what would be the difference if i went with .040 over .060 ?? basically stock w/lid, 3400TC, and LT/ORY

but what about the gap issue? stupid dealership gots my trippin on what gap, i was all set to go .055 till i had to ask..uhh

I thought the iridiums came pre-gapped and I was told by a friend that yer not supposed to gap em cuz it will mess em up. Is there any truth to this?

yeah i read that gap post, thats why im so skeptical that the dealership told me .040, i think even my haynes repair book says to gap them at .040
this is a huge difference from .040 (dealer/repair book) and the .055, .060 (everyone runs on here) im not saying you guys are wrong because i know if your running them, theyre working, im just worried that the dealer is either being super conservative, or its the plugs they use that require the small gap.

HAHA....alright rampage...i think ill just gapem to .050 just to be safe. what last longer, the ac delco iridium, or the ngkTR55 v series? im guessing the iridiums will perform a little better, but i dont want them to burn out faster (trying to change plugs as little as possilble) but if the iridiums are supposed to last longer, and perform better, i dont mind forking out the extra cash.

i been wondering myself..are the regular tr55's plenty enough or are the platinums that much better..im an lt1 guy but cant seem to find the answer..are the platinums worth the price or not

The iridiums are not worth it IMO. You could buy 4 sets of v-powers for what you pay for 1 set of iridiums. I've run BOTH in my car, and noticed no difference at all. Now I'm back to v-powers, can't beat $16/set.

They liked to be gapped about around .055, and 90% of them come that way (tr55 v-powers). When you start making more power, you'll need to close the gap a bit. I suggest you dab a bit of anti-sieze on the plugs before install, use some die-electric grease on them, and be VERY careful putting them in. They like to crack on these cars and it causes the upper RPM spark to break up causing backfires/popping/missing.

If you do decide to go with the IX's, you should not alter the factory gap on them, or any other iridium/platinum plug for that matter, as they are easy to damage.

^^^im not sure theres a difference in performance....but there is a difference in longevity....the copper burns off pretty fast if you go WOT alot...were as the iridiums will not....ive run both....

Use the TR55's. I just put in a new set and they came pre-gapped at .055.
