I have a question regarding spark plug gap...
After driving the car untuned around the block to break in the breaks and etc, I checked a few plugs, just to see what is happening in the combustion chamber..
The plug porcelin was a brownish/white "baked cookie bottom" color, and also had some carbon buildup on about 50% of it...it was not spotted or anything.
The tip of the spark plug, where the spark occurs seemes to be kind of brownish white...with no carbon build up..
I have all plugs gapped .055 (NGK TR55 right out of the box)
My question is, should I close the cap to maybe say .050 or even a .045 to create a better burning spark? It just didnt look like I was getting a strong spark, am I wrong?
THANKS AGAIN!
we will see how that works...the car is def running rich, the plugs are pretty blackish brown, but not wet or anything but I guess I am expecting that until I get er tuned...
