Arrow LS1 Intake and LS6 Intake (Newb Question)

I have a 98 with an LS1 Intake manifold. I was wondering, if I bought an LS6 intake manifold, would it just bolt on? Or would i need something else? I am referring to the Fuel rail, etc.....

I know that I would have to delete EGR...

The reason why I want to know is because I am planning on buying "race style" long tube headers, and deleting the AIR and EGR stuff while changing my intake at the same time.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

youd need a block off plate for the egr and a added coolant line....but other then that yes it bolts right up

Thanks for th quick response. I was trying to read the !AIR and !EGR removal thread, but it doesn't have as many pictures as i'd like. Is it really hard to take all of these things out? Also, is there a better write up with more pictures??

i could make one but it wouldnt be till tomm....or you can follow directions clearly

-youve got 10 manifold bolts....undo them
-watch the oil sending unit in the back
-unplug all wires and hoses as needed
-unbolt egr from head and from exhaust manifold
-form block off plate with alumn sheet and a dremel
-bolt that over the hole
-install ls6 manifold WATCH THE OIL SENDING UNIT
-plug everything back up and for god sake dont let anything fall into the valves when the manifold is off....

do you need to know anything else?

do you need to know anything else?

The only thing else I can think of is .... What are ALL the parts that make up the AIR system, and the EGR system....

I think that is my main concern, I don't want to just start taking things off when I don't know if they are what I need to take off.

Bare with me please, this is my first time doing this.....

the egr's gonna have to go.....and you will throw a code...but the car will be ok as long as u block off that opening on the exhaust manifold.....

the air pump doesnt exactly have to go...but you can if you want, itll just take more time and youll have to make two more plates....the egr is a pump/cylnd looking thing on the passenger side head that has two hoses coming out of it....

if you look on the drivers side of your car...youll see a hose running along the side of the engine bay....this goes behind the manifold and splits into two tubes that go down into the exhaust manifolds.....the other end of the hose dissapears to the pump itself in the drivers front corner of the car.....

anything else???

You don't need the coolant line. Grind the ribs down on the bottom of the intake and you'll be good to go

honestly, it's not really worth it unless you are going to do a cam and full exhaust upgrade.
