i hav to say im very impressed with kooks. i just recently picked up a set of 1 7/8 stepped to 2" with 3.5 collectors for my truck. they are actually Fbody headers and fit so well in a truck frame. no other fbody headers fit as well as these in the frame of a truck. also the welds are perfect, flanges are thick...overall best header i have seen

I went with the coated setup from TSP with TSP's ORY. I'd definitely recommend going with the catted version with your LM cat-back to help soften that rasp that the LM is so well known for. I'm putting cats on my car because my Magnaflow rasps too much for me without cats.
If I had more time for my purchase, I would've gotten Kooks or QTPs. I was in a bind because the motor was out of my car and the new one was going back in and I was not going through a motor swap to put stock manifolds back on. Needless to say, I was very short on money with the heads/cam and all the other goodies I bought for the setup. Kooks and QTPs just tuck up nicer and have a better Y-pipe design.
As soon as I get the car driveable again and out of the garage, I'm taking it to a buddy's shop to tear the Y-pipe off and add some spun stainless Magnaflow cats and crush the driver side pipe a bit to get some clearance for the floor board where it bangs. The TSP Y-pipe is kind of a pain to put together on the car, but the adjustability of it is nice. Crush the pipes where needed, or leave them be

Well, my vote is for the Kooks. While price is a major factor, stainless steel and the clearance of the headers/Y-pipe is another factor in my choice for Kooks. While it is pretty standard that you will get a equal HP increase with either, the Kooks adds those benefits. I don't think in this case you can say "A header is a header." like people say "A lid is a lid." There are fitment and construction issues that make them different.

I'm going through this internal debate also.
I have had pacesetters before and thought they were a great bang for the buck. However, the y-pipe fits like absolute **** (the pacesetter off road). In the end, looking back I think I should have spent the extra money for the kooks/qtp with a y-pipe that fits great. Would have saved some frustration, and I also had to pay an exhaust shop to fix the mess.![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
I am trying to do a little more research on the TSP catted y for the pacesetters. Is that a good fit? Any banging/rubbing and i'm out...drives me nuts.

i snagged my friends True Dual setup for the right price.. id do true duals at axel(pretty loud on a stalled/cammed daily driver, but good for a weekend car) or id use someone elses y pipe
