Try an easy out. Be sure to drill the bolt in the center.

did it brake off flush with the block, or is there a stud sticking out?? if theres a stud try vise gripes or try to weld a nut to it. if its flush do like matt94z said. they work really good.

Whew! I took the water pump off and the remaing bolt end was loose. I unscrewed it with my fingers.

Question: None of the other bolts broke and there doesn't appear to be any other damage. Am I good to go with a new bolt? Or did my trying to tighten them too much cause any other problems? Also, should I go with factory bolts? See this link for the history

you can try to run a tread chaser in to the hole to make sure. dont use a tap it will cut the treads, unless you have too

Good question. Aren't lug nuts only tightened to 100 ft-lbs?

yeah lugs are like 90ftlbs, my head studs are 75ftlbs and that is tight and takes a bit of power to torque to. I cant believe 132 was attempted on the water pump and the bolt even came back out.

At least there is a good chance you won't be making the mistake between inch pounds and foot pounds again

There is a tool that you use when you install gears. To get the pinion nut right you spin it around and it is supposed to have like 23 in lbs or something like that.
