Ok, well this makes me feel a little better. I still need to figure out if my cats are stock or if they've been replaced at some time. None the less, I'd probably have someone help me when i do take out the AIR system. So whats the ball park price on tuning out the codes that this will set off? Will i be able to have the process reversed if i decide to put the AIR stuff back on in the future?

AIR delete and removal is really easy dude! I'm sure there are other threads and if you can't go off of what he said in his post text wise and do it yourself you might as well take it to a shop and let them do it for you. It really is as simple as he typed it out.

The block off plates can be found on ebay, numerous online parts shops(ws6store, I think 6litereater has them, and several others), and it's pretty straight forward once you actually look at it and try. I did the block off for the AIR and EGR when put my LS6 intake on. The AIR "Pump" is actually still on the car and turns on but doesn't effect anything engine wise. I can't hear it inside the car so it doesn't bother me.

I did this last fall and should have done it years ago sing I don't have any emissions where I live anyway. Makes a big difference in cleaning up the engine bay and accessibility, plus saves a bit of weight.

I do all my own work. I just wanted to see how tho hose gets taken off cause I have a 99. On one end it looks as though it screws off and on the other it looks as though you just pull it off by the little clips. Was just trying to be careful not to break anything in case I have to put the stuff back on. Was planning on moving to texas this summer.

I have a 99 as well! I have mine off but I still have the pieces, if you need a pic of anything in particular feel free to message me. The removal process is very simple, the only mistake you'll most likely make is overthinking it lol. I hope it goes well!

Awesome, what part of Texas? I'm in Austin and love it! You do have to have an inspection here but they don't hook anything up to your exhaust. As long as you aren't throwing a code you'll be fine. HP Tuners will delete the Check Engine light you will have from removing this.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but I just done this on my 99 camaro and was wondering what you do with the loose connectors? Do I just tape them up? Also will it hurt anything not to have the codes tuned out? I'm doing a cam in a couple of months and would like to wait until then to have the codes tuned out. Thanks
