Default Which to install first???

Hey I got a question, since I'm getting my race headers this week and ls6 intake at the same time, I was wondering which to install first, and since my headers are the race version from pacesetter then that means no block off plates right??

No block off plates. Just do them both at the same time, the order does not really matter.

I'd do the LS6 intake before the headers. That way, you can pull the AIR and EGR out and have more room to work with the header install.

it doesn't matter which order. neither will get in the way of the other. no block off plates.

True for the most part. But, with the intake off it's a hell of a lot easier to pull the AIR system - especially when trying to get to that stubborn mounting bracket on the back of the driver's side head. That's why I recommended pulling the EGR, intake and AIR first. It get's everything out of the way in a more efficient progression.

Although in the end, it may not make that big of a difference. But hey, I'm a supply chain grad. Can't help but to try and find the faster way.

No you wont need any block off plates for the intake. Most new manifolds should come with gaskets, but if yours didn't i would get new ones - but thats just me. And yes you will definately feel a difference and damn you will hear it too!!

has anybody try to soak the manifold bolts with WD-40 the night prior to taking the exhaust maifolds off. I'm just wondering if it will be easier.

I just hit it with a little PB Blaster before I went at it. They're not supposed to be torqued down very hard to begin with, so the only thing you need to break through might be a little surface rust.
