Default Cherry bombs (yes im serious)

Im getting ready to do some 3" duals on my car. I was thinking of putting two cherry bombs on each side (4 total). Iv read some of the threads and i see people saying "oh those are for old 4x4 trucks, they sound crappy" but im not buying that, they look the same basic construction as any other straight through muffler.

Do and of you guys actually have them? I think 2 on each side will give me a nice sound with good flow.

Oh yeah did I mention they are cheap as ****! I think its retarted to pay $100+ for a pipe with **** around it.

im all about being thrifty. I welded in a set of auger mufflers. They slide inside the pipe and are then welded on the inside

I've never dealt with one as just a muffler but they make awesome resanators.

You can get glass packs for around 20-40 a pop, I think it's worth trying how many people spend a ton and end up less happy, and if you like it you saved a ton on your attempt.

I know some people don't like to test things out but just giving the idea.

my only concern would be that they blow out after time...but I guess they are cheap enough to get new ones easily

I've had one on my other car as a resanator, it's been um 2 years still not blown out though.

If it goes tommorow, still it'll have more been worth it for 20 bucks.

Really all wooll packed mufflers go out after time.

Are you talking Cherrybomb glasspacks or bullets? There is a difference. The bullets are straight through, and would most likely sound just like any other bullet; think TSP true duals with Dynomax bullets.

If they're glasspacks, then they'll sound like an old shitbox redneck truck. All snappy and poppy, basically crap. Glasspacks have tons of big louvers on the inside that deflect the sound into the fiberglass wrapping, hence the term glasspack.

A bullet simply has a perforated tube through the middle, and the sound can find its own way into the fiberglass, but there is no flow restriction. Glasspacks are old technology, and you get horrible restriction from the louvers.

ive run these

but i think it would be something to run these. Slide it halfway in the pipe, stick some stainless steel wool in there, slide it in the rest of the way, then weld it up.
