Default Meziere water pump running hot!

Just installed a Maziere water pump with a 160stat. While driving on the highway about a good 40 min my temp goes to about 220. With my stock pump temp would never go any higher then 210. Wanted to know if anyone has ever seen this.
Thanks

Do you have any air in the cooling system ?? My only malfunction with the Meziere was not having a big enough fuse to run it. The fuse blew, the pump stopped, and the heat went soaring. Bigger fuse, engine never got hot again, even in 100* weather stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Good luck.

In fact even when out running hard, my water temp never even sees 200*. Been to 199 a couple of times, but never hit 200*. When do your fans come on?

I'd check the stat first and go from there. That's one nice thing about the Meziere...the thermostat is really easy to get to. Drain the radiator about half way, take the hose off, and just unscrew the tube. I tried 3 before settling on the 180 that's in there right now for summer driving. If it gets really hot, I'll go back to a 160. Winter, it'll have a 195 so I can burn my nuts off with the heater.

allngn_c5 - what size fuse did you end up running? Mine came with a 20 amp, and I'm running a 30 amp automotive relay, so I guess I could up it to 30 if need be, but I have seen no issues as of yet.

I think Sean at LG used a 30 amp but I am not sure. As far as fan programming and a 160 tstat, you should set your fans to come on at 180 and 190 first and second fans. Keeps the motor nice and cool.

First fan at 180-185 and second fan on at 190-195. Keep her cool and make more power. JMO
