Kooks Y-Pipe Hitting The Car
Kooks Y-Pipe Hitting The Car Just got my new kooks headers/catted Ypipe put on and the ypipe is apparently hitting the bottom of the car. Is this a normal occurance? Reccomended fixes?

My Y-pipe on my old Camaro was hitting the floor board frame under a load (WOT shifts, etc.). There a re few ways to do fix it, either new poly motor mounts to keep the engine from torqing too much or what I did, and the cheaper way, is a heater hose cut about 2-3 inches and held in place by a large hose clamp at where it was hitting.
Mine fit pretty well...so far no banging.
I just kept adjusting it when I put it on until I thought I had it in the best position to clear everything...

i have kooks LT and catted y pipe... nice and tight.. no banging... id say its close to a stock fitment... do note , its been over 3 years since i installed them, but i do remember a bracket that attachés to the y pipe and body/frame... do you have this attachment bracket? anyone else confirm what I'm talking about?.... you could always PM George at kooks or TTPmatt and they will know exactly what I'm talking about....TTPmatt actually did my install

I too would recommend the bump stop, many people see good results with either those or motor mounts. Either way, Good luck. I cant to get my Kooks in, been waiting almost a month now
