Default I want solid 12 second car...

I know it's achievable with bolt-ons, but what would be the quickest way to get there? Traction I know will be a vital part of doing it. So i'm planning on buying new rims anyways, maybe some 17x11 with 315 drag radials. Lid and Exhaust obviously. What else could I get for cheap that would get me into the 12's? or would I already be in the 12's.

By the way my car is a bone stock 2001 SS, 6-speed.

Switch to 4.10s and get a lid and maybe some drag radials.

Don't touch the rear end unless you're prepared to buy a 12-bolt. You will grenade it, especially with drag radials.

Exhaust, lid, pulley, TB, and tune should put you in the 12's easy, depending on how it runs now.

I have 4.10's, have gone 1.70's on DR's with them. Even had them with the turbo on the car, but they never hooked on the street. Our 7.5's aren't the strongest thing in the world, but I ran low 12's all day long on an m6 with LT's and a hotcam without a tune.

Lid + P&P TB, Cutout, Nitto's... if you can drive that should do it.

You never know... my friend's bone stock 2002 SS, 6-speed ran 12.9's. He can drive though. Headers, lid, and tires should get you there regardless.

Mine exploded with 245/50/r16 cheap-o non-drag radials, a slipping clutch, and had never been on a track in it's life. Only mods to the car at the time were LT's and a lid.

Some people have lucked out over the years, but a LOT have not.

Not really sure how great of a driver I am...I try not to destroy clutches left and right. I can launch pretty well and get through the gears quickly but I doubt i'm what you consider a "good driver." I have thought about rear end gears but 3.42's are good enough for me especially with a weak rear-end. I have raced another ls1 m6 car and I was pulling on him and he had exhaust/lid/headers and I am bone stock. He was a 99.

Driver. There are plenty of stock 01/02 f-bodies running 12's stock.

I ran 12.9s@108-109 stock on street tires. With full exhaust, lid, self ported TB, and Nittos I went 12.5s@111-112. Then I installed 4.10s and the car ran 12.30s@113.

I've heard a lot of different out-takes on it. Some people say that stuff won't void the warranty, some say it will. Anyone have any experience w/ this?

lid, catback, 4.10s with a set of DR should be good for deep 12s. That shouldn't void your warranty depends on where you live though.....

3.42 is a pretty low gear to have in a 6spd man....i'd definitely get AT LEAST 3.90s or 4.10's. with dr's and of course the driver mod, they would definitely help you a lot on your quest for 12's

If you're worried about warranty, throw a dry shot of nitrous on it with an aftermarket lid. 100hp worth would put you into the bottom 12's or high 11's depending on how you can hook it.

If you need to bring it in, take the kit off and put the stock lid on.
