Default PCV breather smoke

I tried a search but doesn't seem like the search function is working

Anyways....My 2000 Z28 (mods in sig) smokes out of the valve cover breather...It smokes a little upon start up, but when I pull the breather off after a few minutes, there is some oil on the bottom of it which has some slight smoke coming out of it.

The tailpipes also smoke for a while before it stops, its not oil or anything, but steam, maybe from catless Y?

Thanks for the help guys, I prolly sound so stupid

My car only has 60k miles on it....runs great....I think the breather is just letting that crankcase pressure out and the hot oil may smoke a bit, and I think the exhaust does have moisture like you say so, but I didn't know if the catless had anything to do with it

Thanks

Smoke out of the breather is normal. Those gasses blowing by your rings pick up a little of the oil vapor on their way out, just enough that you can see it.

"Smoke" out of the exhaust is steam. A hydrocarbon combustion should yield carbon monoxide and water. After the car is completely warmed up, the exhaust is so hot that the boiled water is invisible. At first, or when it's really cold out, you can still see the steam.

As the condensates boil off (as motor fires up and
heats up) you'll get steam and volatiles coming out
and carrying oil mist along. The big cool Y/I can hold
a lot of leftover steam and stank condensed from
last shutdown.

its no big deal at all man...my car if its warmed up and just sitting at a red light or idling for a minute builds up those vapors and when i take off "smoke" as it appears will come out of the exhaust...i have no air no egr and no cats so its easy to see why it would go out the exhaust. the breathers are venting but they cant really vent all of it so obviously this is why you will see it come out the exhaust as some of it decides to go to the area of lower pressure. with the stock pcv you have a vaccum on the vapors so you wont see them as much.
