Default Is it necessary to replace gaskets to intake?

My car runs great when i install my ls6 intake and headers. I didnt use a torque wrench to torque this, but I'm good at guessing in pounds, well my local tuner is tuning my car said that there may be a leak on my exhaust, and that I should of put new intake gaskets, so maybe that will fix the tune a little bit better, my question is if is it really necessary to replace the gaskets on the intake, and what would be the symptoms of a leak, or is there something to test if theres a leak?

I would to be safe. If it is sucking air it could make one cly lean and smoke a valve.

norm a intake leak will cause a miss at idle. due to it being lean

You can test by this:

Use an unlit propane torch and point the gas towards each gasket/inlet.

If the idle increases, you have a leak.

Quick346 hit it on the spot. If your idles inconsistant one or more cylinders are leaning out. I beleive the torque specs are 22 in lbs, nothing too much.

UNLIT torch!!!! no heat there. You can also do this with a can of carb cleaner, if the idle changes when you spray the suspected leaky spot, then you'll know.

I got a mental picture of someone torching around there intake when I read that...

If you tuner said there is a leak 'on your exhaust' why are you going to put new 'intake' gaskets in?

Don't change them and tell him you did and see if he says anything different..? jk
