Default Motor mount installation difficulty?

If I got some poly motor mounts how hard would it be to install them myself with a jack and a couple jackstands? What do you actually have to do to get them in?

Thanks

support the engine now once you have them off you have to grind the rivets out of the clam shells pry it open pay attention to the position of the motor mounts as per instructions place the new mounts in the clam shells and
use the supplied bolts and nuts and tigheten clam shells. fyi do one side at a time and to get the long bolt out of the passenger side mount you dont have to remove the a/c compressor

Ok, am I right when I say it doesn't sound too incredibly hard to do then?

Its not an easy install. It will be easier with the headers out of the way.

I hated every second of my mount swap. Not having headers in the way is a major plus! My hands looked like a shark chewed on them after the install. It is very difficult to use a wrench in such tight spaces. I had to heat some of my wrenches up and bend them to fit some spots. Removing the starter and AC is helpful.

I had my poly mounts put in after my header swap. Reading all the threads about how much of a pain in the *** it is I had a shop do it for me and the guy only charged me $150.

I got my poly mounts about three weeks ago and I have installed the passenger side one. I had to remove the A/C compressor and bracket, but I just laid it to the side enough to get the long bolt out. I used a jack to support the motor and get the mount back in once I drilled out the rivets in the clamshell and put it back together. It took me about 4 hours and I had to get my brother to werk the jack while I got the long bolt back installed. It wasn't too difficult but you gotta have some good extensions and a universal joint, the ball type. I may do the drivers side today if it warms up. But with just the one in my ORY pipe stopped banging my floor so I am very happy with the purchase and mod so far.

I did mine when I did the H/C installation. It was not too bad, but the second bolt would ot line up. I ended up using a long drift to line up the holes, then I ground a point on the bolt and used a hammer to tap it home.

If you are going to try to do it with the headers or manifolds still on the car, prepare for a slow and frustrating experience!

There's a huge thread on here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

In a word...no. You'll understand when you're in the middle of the install.

I ended up dropping the entire exhaust out of the way, headers included. The time spent doing that was more than made up in the relative ease of install after it was out of the way.

Did it with the headers and starter still on. Major pain in the ***. It took me 18 hours to do it over three days. I had to just get away from it for a little while. I think the long bolt on the drivers side actually went in from the other side...after i ground it down to a point. Have fun!

FYI, my y pipe still bangs

It took me 6 hours to install the damn poly motor mounts on saturday after I already removed the whole exhaust, starter, alternator, and ac compressor out of the way!!!
WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$!!!!!!!!

The Hardest Part was just getting the two long bolts in that hold the mount to the frame....it really sucked!!!!

I recommend you set aside the better part of a day to do the whole poly motor mount swap!!!

The Motor dont move anymore after the poly mounts got on!!!

due to the congested nature of the engine bay...it is a pain in the ***.

i did mine before my headers were in. took me 10hrs from start to finish.

most of that time was spent trying to figure out how to wiggle the damn things in and out.

Lol, well it sounds like motor mounts are a no-go just to get rid of a bit of banging with my exhaust...
