Default Whats up with these cat backs?

Why don't many people run these cat backs?

PaceSetter TFX
Mac
Edelbrock

They're all cheap...dirt cheap. What's everybodys opinions on them?
Flow? Quality? Fitment? Sound? Looks?

I almost bought the edelbrock catback but I posted on here and nobody seemed to know much about it. Someone recommended the hooker which was about the same price so thats what I bought!

i think it's an image thing. kind of like a stereotype.

- edelbrock is for old school cars, not new cars
- pacesetter is cheap, and minus the LS1 headers, should generally be avoided
- MAC is for mustangs

so people tend to stray away.

I think also there is considerable feedback on what others are running or have run. It leads to the question do you want to go with a setup that is proven to work or go with something that is entirely new that would either work great or flunk miserably.

I installed a hooker cat back on a LT1 a while back and it sounded pretty throaty.

Hmm. Hooker seems to be a brand that is used quite frequently around here. Here's my deal: I need a catback soon, and I would rather it be cheap because I am going to do 2.5" duals in the future. But i need a catback to get me by. I want something new (as in not used), and I dont want to have to go to an exhaust shop to have some tips made to replace those hideous Z71 bass boat pullin tips (like those found with the magnaflow, etc). Also, i hate quad tips...also hideous on a camaro...on a ta its okay. To be honest, the mufflex dual exit setup is my favorite...but they're so expensive.

I've got a loudmouth now. It might be an okay fit with a pacesetter Y (which is what i am switching over to) but my tsp catted y is worthless. I'm going with a pacesetter Y because its two pieces, and it will take me over speed bumps.

I've "been there done that" with the borlamouth...also a worthless combo in my opinion...worthless in a ground clearance opinion. I want to stay away from stuff in the I pipe. Im just not sure what catback to turn to.

Now I actually do love the corsa dual tips...thats my only exception. But, it carries a hefty price tag, like you said. Im almost thinking about bighting the bullet and getting a single exit mufflex system. Whats everyones opinion on them?
