concern about my header install yea i just put on some lt headers on and started it with open headers and when i first started it the rpm gauge was bouncing up between 1000 and 2000 i shut it off and then it just stayed at about 1000 and was going down when it was warming up. would that be normal for the first time it started up or whats the problem

did you install your block off plugs? all your header bolts tight, did you install a freeze plug in your EGR hole in your intake, if you didnt delete EGR is everything tight?

however, when i did my header install, i took the battery out completly, and put it back in after i was done and it started up just fine.

when my battery went dead, i tried to start it. but when my headers were going on, i didnt try to start it untill it was hooked back up. so my guess is the PCM on mine didnt notice the battery was gone because i didnt try to start it. on yours it went so long without power it probably reset itself. im sure it has capacitors in it that eventully go dead.
