i didnt get them from the top for ****. we had to cut the tabs off both sides of the block and jack up the motor. hope yours goes easier than mine did. getting them in was worth it though!

I just put mine on this weekend and I went in from the bottom. I didnt remove coils or anything up top. Just the small heat shield on the drivers side and ground down the tap on the block (just a little) on the pass side and removed the dipstick. Not bad at all.

My macs were a bitch to install..... Drivers side went in from top, passenger side went in from bottom, then after 12 hrs of hell, the first runner tube on drivers side was hitting the fat part of the steering shaft, so I had to grind that down....everything is great now but now i'm wondering if the headers are a lil tooo close to the clutch line because now i'm starting to get soft clutch pedal after WOT runs....thinking maybe it's heating up the fluid in the hydralics.....kinda wish I didn't mess with it now

I absolutely love the way it sounds now with the macs.....It's nasty with the cutout open When it's closed, it's very throaty sounding w/ some rasp....I like a lil rasp though

I really like my Macs too, but they were a pain to install. Like miamifan said, the driver's side went in from the top but for the passenger side I actually had to trailer my car to a shop to be put in !

I pulled the valve covers, coil packs and steering knuckle and they fell right in on both my cars.

The driver's side header slipped right in on mine, but the passenger side I had to force past the tab, sounds easier then it really was, it just wouldn't go in through the top even though I had taken the coil packs and anything and everything I possibly could off to include the starter. If this ever happens to me again I'll grind a bit off that tab some people were mentioning above, it would have been much easier that way. I had to lift the car pretty high too, but now that it's over I can say it was worth it.
