Using LS1 Edit to dynotune my ARE 422ci (iron block)
I'm hoping to do better than last time when I was having fuel pump issues, I did 435rwhp locked. I don't think that's too incredible, especially locked.
I have stage III LS1 heads with 2.08/ 1.60 valves.
I have a 242/242//114 Lunati cam.
Only changes from last time will be my dual exhaust, and a new intank fuel pump.
We will do a pull with the current tuning.
Then we will redo the tuning with LS1Edit. www.BVPerformane is the leading LT1/LS1Edit tuner in Chicago. We hope to do a lot better, let's see what happens.
I'm dynoing on pump gas too.

Ditto on the good luck! You should be able to pull very good numbers with that setup. The addition of actual fuel pressure and the dual exhaust may do a lot more for you than what you might think.
BTW, are you running the Dynatech steps are you indicated you were going to do earlier?

If the car is going to be raced with 93 octane, wouldn't it make sense to tune it with 93?????

Well, it's a work in progess.
We did a baseline pull with my existing Superchips programming from ARE.
445rwhp, 501rwtq (not a tq spike)
445rwhp @ 6200, 11.5:1 AF (unlocked)
Only bad thing we noticed was that the AF from 4000 to 5800 was too lean, like 18:1 and went to 14:1... and then gradually richened up to 11.5:1.
NEXT, we found that my pcm was LOCKED. Some sort of checksum? thing is not enabled or something.
We started redoing the pcm from scratch, and the car was very rich and dynoed stuff like 425rwhp, and 490rwtq with 10:1 AF...
Had some sort of voltage spike and now we have to have the pcm reflashed at the dealer.
But we saved all the info, and already make more vacuum, the tuning up to 4000 is excellent, car idles much better...
So, I guess on Wednesday we'll finish up.
Shooting for 12.5:1-13:1.
I think that 475rwhp locked might be possible.
So, a work in progress...
Dragula stats:
2000, 346ci, 350rwhp unlocked, 375rwhp locked
2001, 422ci, 420rwhp unlocked, 435rwhp locked
2002, 422ci, 445rwhp unlocked **not complete*
I am impressed with LS1 Edit, it's a very good product.
We were dynoing with no filter, and the lid off the airbox, some air blowing in but not directly into the box...
I am a little encouraged with things, it's not coming easy for me (as usual)...
I have kept the TTS longtubes and will not be doing new headers this year.

Good numbers though PSJ especially Torque, when you get it tuned it'll run well! <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

BTW, we have been using 31 degrees of timing with no ill effects. Just calibrating my 38 lb injectors has been hard.
