Default Grinding Ribs on LS6 Intake, Pics?

Somebody posted up some great pics of the intake with ribs ground off in the right places a few months ago. I tried the "googlized" search but it gave me nothing. Can anyone direct me to the thread or post up some new pics?

If you do this, you don't need the coolant pipes, but do you still need the plugs?

why the grinding? because a LS6 intake will not fit a car that originally came with a LS1 intake due to the routing of the collant lines under the intake. Cars originally equipped with an LS6 intake had different lines

Yeah, and by grinding off the ribs you don't have to do anything to the LS1 cooling lines - no pipes, plugs, anything. And some people believe that keeping the pipe attached at #7 cylinder helps keep it cooler and reduces the chance of disaster at that hole.

just do what i did. knock every single rib off with a hammer and chisel. everything is great. you dont have to worry about where to grind. i did mine in 10 min. most everyone else spends alot of useless time ******* around using a dremel.

Ha ha ha ha I might just do that, those ribs are so tiny and worthless, I thought they were gonna be substantial and structural, they look decorative.

I just grabbed my pneumatic roatry tool with a sanding disc and took care of it in about 30-40 seconds. Nice and easy and no problems.

nice pics, i've heard of this done, i just was weary to do it, seams the "chiseling" almost seems safer... but i just used the crossover line for th ls6 and pluged the back holes... the lines are usually only like 40 bucks or so... would suck ruining your ls6 intake over 40 bucks...

I'm paranoid about closing off coolant passages that were put there by the factory, ostensibly for a reason. LS6 intakes are cheaper than ruined valves/heads.

... on the other side of the coin, think about the cars that got the LS6 intake from the factor. They don't have the same cooling pipes and I don't see stories every week about catastrophic failure. I went with the line and plugs because these mods that require some "creativity" and aren't in black and white, not a fan...

I know, I thought about that too. I just figure, if the only downside is possibly poking a hole in the bottom of the intake, which would be pretty hard to do, and the upside is I get to keep the coolant lines factory stock, it's not a bad trade-off.

If I had one of them little sanders that looks like a mouse I'd have done that! I'm not too dexterious with a dremel...
