Exact HP gains are very hard to know. Since the FTRA requires air to be flowing under the car, it is more effective the higher your speed. I did several things at once and picked up around 2 tenths. Yes you can run the FTRA with an aftermarket lid, if I remember right you can even get a package of both from http://www.fasttoys.net . Overall a good mod to do I think. The only problem is that it does block about 1/3 of the raditor but I've had no cooling issues in the high 90's with low humidity.

I just ordered mine today on a GP from another site for a big discount. I have always wanted the FTRA and after a little research decided to buy. FT advertises that thier system inreases the VE therefore increasing power. The only thing is that the car has to be moving to start the flow of air. An independant test showed a 5% increase in VE. doesnt sound like much but it works out to be a 15-20 gain, but as stated before you must be moving to get the gain. When mixed with a lid the improvments are very noticable from what I have heard. Cant wait to get mine though. Only problem is living in the seattle area with all of the rain and puddles. I also got the block off plate for the rainy days.

I wrote up a small article on it and the VE increase. I picked up at my local 1/8th mile track. I think it is worth the money to get the real deal FTRA kit. He constantly updates the design and puts 110% into it. Best kit on the market.

Thanks for the replies. Yep, I realize a chasis dyno wont show the true hp gain. But 2 tenths in the 1/4 is a pretty decent hp increase. This will be my first mod to my 02 TA. I havent even got 2000 miles on it yet and Im wanting to carv it up. I ran 13.325@106.30mph in Feb. Thats with a 2.138 60'. Im hoping with the FTRA kit w/ lid, and a SLP 80mm TB, Ill be able to dip into the 12s this summer.

Every thing I have heard from the different web sites is that it is a very good mod, mine is on order and should be in today. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I'd stay away from the SLP TB. Get a ported one from Mark Shaner. Cheaper and more power + no problems.

FTRA is a great product and the service is awesome. I put mine on at 750 miles and could tell a difference at speed. On the highway you can feel a good increase also. Gas mileage went up alittle also, if that matters.
