Default Cutting airbox & removing ram air baffle??

What are your takes on cutting the vertical pieces out of the stock airbox in conjunction with the wisper lid?? And how would you do it? Also, What do you guys think about removing the (1) baffel from inside the ram air hood?? I have a high flow MAF and I am afraid this would cause too much airflow, What do you think?? And how would you do this??

Sorry Knight didn't mean to come off like a snob. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

Cutting the baffles off will work ok. However see if you can buy a used lid off someone. They're a lot better and smoothing the air and you can probably get one for $50.00 bucks off someone.

This place is pretty techy so we forget from whence we came. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Knightrider... I am going to this this week... I think I am going to try a grinder and then try to slick the inside up with some kind of epoxy when I get ground down..... I will get on this sometime this week and see what I can get done and give you some tips if I can!

Guys.. alot of people have try to make the stock lid work as well as the aftermaket lid.. some have come close with alot work, but nearly all of them have bought an aftermarket lid in the end.

Like said above, if you don't want to pay a new price for one.. watch the classifieds for a used one.

As for the baffle removal in a WS6.. I have both sets of mine out. No cutting required.. just drilling out of the rivets and "snapping" off of some glued parts.

I have the wisper lid, but when I installed it I did not cut out those vertical plastic pieces from the bottom of the box... You know the tray the filter sits on. That was my qestion... sorry for the mis understanding.

As far as removing the plate from inside the WS6 hood... Will it require a MAF Translator or some programming due to maybe too much airflow??
