Ws6 Hood Hp Gains

Does anybody know how much if any HP gain I should get from adding a WS6 hood to my setup. My hood and air box should be in next week. It is a factory hood and air box.

Hood is an appearance mod not a HP mod. In spite what GM may want to make you think when they rated the WS6 10hp more. (remember rated hp figures are Flywheel) so you may see 1-5 rwhp in the top end if at all most of it due to the slightly larger opening in the lower air box compared to stock.

i think the raptor hood is rated like +32rwhp @ 3600 rpms

if you get a good kit to seal the airbox to the hood, then you will make more power the faster you go. but other then that there wont be a difference.

in order for ram air to be actual ram air you would need to be goin 200mph+.the cooler air that the hood lets in is where the power gains are at.which are little to none.

yeah you'd have to be going pretty fast to gain anything even worth measuring, and even then it would be hard to notice at that speed anyway...

When I am at the track, I get so many ignorant comments from people that don't know anything about ws6's. They say, oh...well...its got ram air...no wonder its fast! LOL

it should when i put on my slp ultraz hood... i could tell my car was slighty quickey and felt smoother thru-out the rpms

So if I installed a WS6 hood mainly for appearance it doesn't sound like its even worth the cost of adding the matching factory intake?

if you get the ws6 airbox and add ducting to the hood and seal it to the airbox then theres def a gain and a cheap cai but its not gonan be like a WOAH gain

Only on top-end it will make a diff in HP.
