WS6 exhaust, different?
What about a stock SS without any optional exhaust? Does it simply come with the same exhaust as a regular Z28, just with different tips?
I put a take-off WS6 muffler on my '99 T/A and it got a little louder and deaper. The exhaust on my '01 WS6 is way louder and rumbles much more than my '99 with '99 WS6 take-off muffler. I've been wondering why. The cam? The different exhaust manifolds?

the WS6 ram air is not effective the way it comes from the factory. BUT...remove the baffles and seal the airbox and then it makes a difference!

I agree 100% that removing the baffles is a big diffrence, but how do I seal the air box? I have the MTI clear lid on the car now, but how do I know if the air box is sealed or not??? This kit is supreme in quality, and I HIGHLY recommend it to any WS6 owner. Brian Greene is an excellent guy to deal with, and his product is top notch. It’s been on my car for about a year now and still looks like brand new.

That looks awesome..how much does it cost and was it hard to install?? Thanks..Michael

I think I paid about $180 for everything with shipping (his prices might have gone up since last year though). If you skip some of the cosmetic stuff (like the corner pieces and the TEF center piece) you could get it down 20 bucks or so probably.
It really wasn’t a hard install at all. The only hard part was the way in which you have to bend your back to install the “main” piece of the mod on the back side of the hood scoops.
[QB]they may make around 5 hp more, due to the less restrictive muffler. But that's about it.
Couple of things about SS exhaust (dunno about
the birds). One is, there's an -optional- set
of exhaust packages you may or may not get.
Depends on what you, or the dealership ordered.
Mine has the center mounted exhaust, luck of
the draw. The muffler on this puppy looks like
a hand-built job. Heavy gauge stainless, MIG
or TIG weld spots on the outside, larger than
what I see hanging under regular Z/28s. Other
thing is the exhaust exit piping. I was behind
a stock Z/28 yesterday and was noticing that
the pipe between the muffler and the tips was
-way- undersized. Looked like under a 2" OD.
The exit plumbing on mine is 2.5" on each side.
This package is claimed to give 10HP in the GM
and SLP literature. The fancy SLP OEM lid is
claimed to give another 10HP (the two together
comprise the top-of-the-line "factory" SS
performance package).
Couldn't tell you what reality is, there.
