Having fun with an LS1 intake and power tools. ;)
I discovered that you can easily cut a 1.5" wide x 3" deep slot at the bottom of each intake runner (basically cutting the bottom of the runner off) and wind up with a dual plane style runner. You get a 2" runner on the bottom plane the stock 13" runner on the top plane.
In addition I'm going to drill out the large support bars in the middle of the intake for a little more top end flow.
The best part of this is that if it works, its a really easy procedure. You don't have to cut the intake in half and glue it back together or anything like that. I'll post some pics tonight.

The only thing that helped was smoothing out the casting flash on the inlet floor.GM desigined the intake on the edge of turblence,and everything made it worse.
