When do the fans kick in ??? thinking about getting a HPP3. Is it at 220? it's so hot here in Florida right now that I was thinking about getting a HPP3 just for the fans alone if it's a big enough difference over the stock settings. will it really help?

Re: When do the fans kick in ??? thinking about getting a HPP3. In warm areas, in addition to reprogramming the fans, a 160 stat works very well. My engine stays plenty cool in the summer time, and it makes a little more HP.

It's been in the mid 90's where I live in Florida and I have noticed some slight and very light detonation but only in 2-3 shift at about 5,000-6,000 rpm's, whats strange is it never does it from 1-2 at WOT only 2-3 in the high rpm's, as soon as it cools off at night the detonation is totaly gone so I know it's just the heat causing it, my AFR is at 12.5 on the dyno.

Fan 1 on/off at 227/218F
Fan 2 on/off at 235/228F
With the stock 180 degree thermostat I used the HPP3 to move my fan on/off to the 180 setting and it made a noticeable difference. Prior to that I was developing light KR at WOT above ~205F, now even in stop-and-go traffic my ECT rarely sees 200.
