Default To those with true duals and no cats...

How do you endure the sheer loudness of that setup???

I have true duals and cats on, but it's still up there in the decibels, if I have my window closed and I keep it under 2k rpm, it's more than tolerable.

On the up note, I scare people when I rev it and make sleeping babies in car seats in other cars cry.

. . Isn't the the Best Part . .

Also, do you have a muffler? if not, the Borla muffler is pretty popular - It could help tone it down

Have it not dumped before the axle instead go all the way back. My set up isn't loud at all, well NOT TOO LOUD.

All the way out the back is the only way you are not going to end up insane. I would dump mine because It doesnt bother me, plus I never drive the car anymore.

Mine are over the axle and out the back.

I can't rev it without people thinking I'm trying to blow their doors off...

I'll look into some real muffler options cause if I have to come in at 2 am, I will end up being harassed the next day by all the neighbours I woke up...

Don't get me wrong I love the sound, but when you start hearing rumors of cops in your area cracking down hard, you kinda wonder if there's just something you can do to keep it managable.

In reality I probably only want to hear it "loud" when I'm ripping it and I want it to be a smooth quiet when cruising. Kinda like the whole if I was racing, you'd know it kind of deal.

I figure if the c7z06 can do quiet and loud like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, I think it's possible on our cars. I just need some suggestions on some good flow mufflers that would fit in the spot where we normally get true duals out the back. Experience wins out on this one because it's tough to guage until you drive it.

My Bassani setup runs all the way out the back, going over the axle. No rasp, no drone. It isn't any louder than some of the catbacks I've heard. If you dump before the axle, or use the wrong mufflers, it's going to be too loud.

The more chambered more baffled mufflers will be quieter. Anything that is straight though will be loud without cats. Talk to a good local exhaust shop for some good opinions.

I love my setup. After I go for a while without driving it, yeah, it seems pretty loud, but I have driven it alot over the last few weeks, and I'm used to it. Just to judge how loud it is, tonight, I cruised by my buddies house in 6th at about 60 mph while he was in the shower and he heard it, hollared at another buddy that was there and said "I think there goes Brian" LOL! So the other dude looks out and sure enough it was me. I was just going by normally, not even rolling into the throttle. His house sets off the road about 125-150 ft I'd guess.

I took it for an extended drive, at 2krpm in 6th gear I had the beginnings of a migraine starting. It's not drone, per say, but it's just consistently LOUD enough to make the radio and conversations go , huh what you say???

I'm going to pop into the shop tomorrow morning to see what I can do about it, it's fun and all, but just not practical for daily driving situations.

I have true duals, no cats on my SS Monte Carlo. It's pretty loud. I have a pretty decent stereo system in there (12" Kickers, Pioneer 4way 6x9s, Alpine 3555 and 3554 amps). You could hear the system really well from a couple blocks away before the duals, but now you hear the car...

What's your motor setup? I have TSP duals dumped and it's fine to me... spiral flows, one of the quieter bullets IMO. Don't know what else to tell you, some people don't have a problem with it, some can't stand it...
