Oh yeah, a buddy of mine are going to do that with a grinder. hes pretty talented. we are also going to descreen the MAF. so aside from EGR, MAF, AIR, and TB, are those all the free mods (or cheap mods)?

If you can scrap up $200, you can get a FTRA, thats an hour or so of time wrenching.

guess it depends on how broke is "broke"

Not a good mod IMO. I recently had an off road incident and stuffed the wheels up into the wheel well. Would have wiped out the harness if I had done the mod. Plus putting your main wire harness millimeters away from the wheel well only to be protected with the plastic fender wall is just plain not smart. Ya it makes the engine bay look cleaner but the potential for disaster far out-weighs the good IMO on this mod.

yeah, ive been debating on doing this mod or not. I mean if your car doesnt see rain, snow, or is a show car, then this mod would be great because you wouldnt really be concerned about your wheels crushing everything. I dont think too many people are planning on doing some off-roading in their f-body and if they do, they probably arent meaning to if you know what I mean. So yeah, if your car is a show car or weekend cruiser, then this mod is great, otherwise, better to keep them up in the bay which I would agree with.

yea my off-road incident wasnt planned thats for sure. But exposing the harness that close to the elements and danger is just not a great idea to me. Show cars are different

TB Bypass is a good idea if you are in warmer climate.

I would only descreen if you are going to be getting a tune shortly.

aaaaaand i already have the SLP flopac with the under box scoop..... however, i didnt use their little rubber seal to block off the front of the intake. i figured there was no sense in blocking off extra way for air in. u guys think i ought to put that piece on? (i just did a search of the FTRA, and its basically the flopac scoop)

Don't have "off road incidents"

I did the wire mod and never had a problem. Then again I never tried to race John Deeres across the back 40....
