MTI clear lid questions???

MTI clear lid questions??? Hey guys I might jump in the MTI lid GP, but I want to have a few questions answered 1st
1)I know install is simple, but I heard someone else say it was a pain in the *** because it doesn't fit, so I am wondering is this a common problem or was it one out of a bunch.
2)How does it stack up in comparisons to other lids(with a K&N filter). This one is fairly expensive and I hope i atleast performs as well as all the others.
3)I want to get the clear one, but will it be visible at all times when the hood is up??? or is there something that goes over the clear lid?
4)I will definitely be doing the Fast Toys Ram Air upgrade and the free ram air upgrade, would getting the MTI lid affect those upgrades in any ways???
5)Lastly how clear is it, someone sent me a pic of a clear lid and it looked so cool, but I don't know if it was MTI or not, and the picture on MTI's web site looks more smked than clear???

Re: MTI clear lid questions??? dont worry about the mti lid. i just put one on this weekend, it took about ten minutes. the only pain is getting the factory sensor grommet into the new lid. it will all make sense when you get the lid in the mail.
by the way i put the lid on with 96 miles, and noticed an improvement and i havent even gone over 4500 rpm yet. still breaking my baby in

Re: MTI clear lid questions??? Works just fine... you have to fiddle a little with it till you get the hang of pushing down the 4 tabs just the right amount to slip it on.
Looks awesome.. i get compliments all the time from people that haven`t seen it before.
It seems to be a little more fragile than the others.
Just like it sais ..CLEAR lid.. not smoked.
Makes no difference if you`re gettin Fast Toys Ram Air.. has no effect on a lid.

Re: MTI clear lid questions??? just like everyone said its CLEAR not smoked, just like a pane of glass. id advise you to take it off when going to the dealer. i left mine on when i went in for service and they messed the damn thing up. its all melted around the neck where it goes into the maf. i think they sprayed starting fluid into it. damn dealers. i should have made them pay for it but i didnt notice it until it was too late.
