mti lid air inlet sensor clearance problems

mti lid air inlet sensor clearance problems

I just ordered a mti clear lid from ws6store and it alread came with a pre drilled hole for the air sensor but when I close the hood it hits and and puts a bunch of stress on it and is turning the seal and sensor sideways. The hole is on the top of the lid and not on the side by the maf like Ive seen the others? I know I can drill a hole but what about the old one I dont know how to repair it to look like it was never there ? Were all mti lids like this ? I just dont want to move it and have the other whole looking like crap. Any comments are welcome.

call mti or ws6store and see if you can get a new one because as far as i know its not supposed to be like that.

Yeah, that's definitely a defect.

The IAT sensor should always point pretty much straight off to the side, maybe angled a TEENSY bit.

Send it back. Tell them, they sent you a retarded lid. Take pictures and email it to them.

did you have any problems gettin that lid on, the first one i got cracked real bad and the second on cracked a little on the side

Yea I did have some issues putting it on. One of the tabs I had to push down and it felt like it was almost going to break but I eased it in there. Other than that and the clips snapping off it was fine. I put the K and N filter seal on which wasnt already on it and it fixed the problem then i took the seal back out and it was fine looked like it sealed better without it because the gasket was smashed. Just have to work it around a little bit and it will come together.
