How to swap alternator pulley?

How to swap alternator pulley?

I assume it straight forward enough to simply unbolt the nut, remove the old pulley, install the new one, then re-bolt the nut?

Also, what is the torque spec for that nut?

Yeah, straightforward. Just unbolt. It has been a few years since I did mine so I don't remember the torque specs.

Also, I think I used a big screwdriver to hold the alt. pulley from turning when you initial break the bolt loose.

Don't worry. Very easy to change.

i do pulley swaps about every weekend at work, we just take an impact, take the nut off and impact the bitch back on, done in less than a minute if ur good at it

How the heck am I suppose to break the nut loose??

The stock pulley wants to spin with the wrench/nut - I dont see a place on the pulley to get a grip.

Or am I suppose to wedge a screwdriver inside the alt on one of the fins inside there?

any suggestions are great, Id like to get this thing off and swapped tonight if possible.

impact is the only thing that will do it right.. and fast... i took my alt down to a local automotive shop.. you know the kind that do everything...

asked one of the techs to zip off the nut off.. took 2 seconds.. and it was free..
