Default Pacesetter install prob??

Did anyone else have a problem with pacesetters and the o2 sensor location on the passanger side? The back of the stock sensor is hitting the transmission pan and I can't get it in??? Any ideas or are there smaller sensors that i have to buy?

it seems to be an A4 problem only... call pacesetter and see what they say i know there have been other member on here with the same problem

I just put the O2's in before putting the headers up there. Worked great and I can still get them out.

I don't know how you can get them out?? I thought about lowering the header to get them in but I thought what if I need to replace the sensor sometime, I don't want to pull the header down... PITA side!! I may just take it to a exhaust shop and have them change the angle of the sensor, what a headache! Does anyone know if there are shorter sensors??

Mine were pretty close but they went in. If the header is already in just take a deep breath and try try again. If that dosent work loosen the screws in the header to allow more space screw the 02 in and put the header bolts back in all the way. If that dosent work grab the ole BFH an make a little dent on the side of the bung which will move the bung a little that might work as well. But IMO just try to screw it in till u get it, the BFH is a last resort.

i had this issue....and you can shave the pan slightly...or get behind the header from the back and align the o2 properly...thats what i had to do...but my wire is still dangerously close to the pan.....sometimes i wonder about pacesetter

Buy a plug and put in the orioginal sensor bung. Then...get a nut that yourt O2 sensor will thread into and make you another O2 sensor bung in a location that is easier for you. In all the Pacesetter LT installs that we've done here.....the one common trand is.....you will always have top fabricate something with them.

I have the same problem but I finally got it in. Once it's screwed in the harness doesn't rub or anything, not really a big deal IMO. I love my pacesetters and the install was GRAVY. No grinding the casting tab, didn't even have to take the steering shaft loose. Now, the TSP Y-pipe has been a different story, but I think I'm about to get it adjusted and rigged up right.

Keep trying, and a little antiseize on the threads will help you get it started in there.
