QTP electric cutout Installed

Hey guys, I got my electric cut out Installed today, and its the coolest thing I've done to my car. I thought My car was loud with the PS lt's, Ory and magnaflow catback until today now it seems very quiet which sucks but oh well. I've got one question the cutout takes approx 5 seconds to open, do you guys just count the 5 seconds or what? Thaats what Im doing right now and am worried that if I hold the toggle switch to long while the blade is fully open will it hurt the electric motor.

Any help would be great thanks guys.

I have the same QTP cut out, I do exactly just that, count to 5 and let off the switch. There is some adapter or whatever that QTP sales that actually tells u what degree angle the cutout is open at, its just kinda pricey.

I always held mine open till I heard it stop..but then again mine crapped out on me after a while. The little electronic thingy they sell is nice though.

I usually count mine out a second or two past when I think it's done. If it's running, it's pretty easy to tell by the sound after a while, and when it's turned off, I can hear mine moving/stop.

Mine is taking more time as it gets older. I've always been careful to either listen for the motor when the car was off, or count five seconds. Lately it seems to take 6 to 7 seconds. No big deal. It still does it's job though. I'll have to get a look at that QTP indicator you're talking about. Thanks for the heads-up!
