This is the sensor on that sticks straight up and is located on the back of the block and would be behind the intake manifold. What sensor is it and does anyone have a guess how much a new one costs?

Oil pressure sensor. Cost? I'm not really sure, maybe $40.00 or so?

That would be the oil pressure sensor. PN is 12562267 (for 99-02) and lists at about $62 at the dealer now, cheaper from a sponsor or local parts store.

If you install it while the motor's still out, you'll be able to use a crescent wrench instead of buying the special socket. BE CAREFUL on re-install.

I ordered my oil pressure switch from Autozone. Cost about $30 and arrived the next day.

Where can I get the special socket, I got one big enough to remove the broken nut but I couldn't get one long enough to slide over the new sensor the screw it in.

Any autoparts store should have one. Bring the sending unit up there and make sure you have the right one.

Everyone should change these when they have the intake off. I learned the hard way and thought I had oil pressure problems inside. All you have to do is bump the sensor and it quits working it seems like
