Default what muffler produces a muscle car sound?

IM looking to get a catback system installed on my 02 WS6 with stock headers and y pipe. Im wondering if there is anything out there that will make it sound like OLD SCHOOL? I love the sound of a 69 Camaro or something like that. Any mufflers out there that produce this sound?

Best bet is the GMMG exhaust, try listening to the clips on ls1sounds.com and see what you like.

Only true duals are going to reproduce the muscle car sound. AY pipe setup aint gonna get it done no matter which catback you run.

I would go with the Loudmouth I. Friend of mine had GMMG on his car with stock manifolds/cats and I couldn't even here it. Loudmouth best bang for buck.

tsp rumbler does a great job of sounding old school and is VERY cheap when compared to other catbacks...i have no complaints about the system...buy it without tips and then get some corsa clones to go on it......

Was the car started and running? GMMG on stock manis/cats is noticeable at idle and definitely louder and DEEPER than stock with any throttle. WOT will produce that deep muscle car sound IMO

How about plan "B"....long-tube headers, off road y-pipe and an electric cutout....has a VERY nice musclecar rumble to it!

O.K., you said stock manifolds and y pipe (true duals, cams, headers, ect. will give you more of an old school sound, but you don't / can't go that route right now).

Here are my reccomendations based on what I have owned and heard for a stock setup:

1) GMMG - expensive, but great sound

2) loudmouth 2 - deep, fairly loud, stainless, affordable, drones a bit on the highway but not bad. You can also switch out the LM2 muffler for a magnaflow or Borla bullet muffler to tweak the sound a bit.

3) Loudmouth 1 - not as deep as the LM2, but louder and a little less tone quality, especially at idle. Stainless, affordable.

4) Magnaflow - pretty quiet catback overall, but still sounds nice when you have your foot in it. Stainless, affordable.

Good luck. I am currently running the LM2 and it sounds pretty good for a Y-pipe, catback setup.

I'd go with the Loudmouth, but put a Powerstick in place of the SLP crap.
