Default Is this a fair price for O2 installation?

I am getting the 2 O2 sensors replaced on the engine. The one on the cat is tuned out. What we be a fair price to have both of these replaced? I think the guy said 300-400 which i thought was extremely high. thanks.

LS1 car (this is the Gen3 section)??? Drive it to Lubbock, TX and I'll do it for you after work....you can buy me a beer for payment!

Seriously, do it yourself. Do you have a floor jack? If so, you can do both sides fairly quickly (under 30 minutes taking your time). Even with a bottle jack doing one side at a time it could be done in under 30 minutes IMO.

You could probably even pull a front tire onto a curb to get enough crawl space underneath, slide under, change it, repeat on other side and be done in 30 minutes or less! Save your $$!!

NOTE: Even on an LT1 car you should not pay for over an hour of labor!

That's rediculous. Change em your self. All you need is a jack, jackstand and a wrench.

dude...even i would do this one myself.

O2's are like $65 a pop from the store. other than that, just jack up your car, take out the old ones, put in the new ones.

you'll be out ~$140 and 30 minutes to an hour of your day in the end.

******' A brother.....I'm with you! I'd do it for you if you drank a 6 Pack wiht me. Don't ever pay that kind of money for o2 sensor replacement. I charge $60 to install Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensors at my shop.

I typically don't do most of the repair and maintenance on my car, simply because I don't have the tools, don't usually have the space to do it (I live in an apartment complex and parking is scarce) nor do I have the free time. That being said, this is one of the few jobs I would do myself. It should only cost you around $60 each for the parts and about 20 - 30 minutes of your time.

You should exploit that guy on this site, so all ls1tech members in your area will never goto that shop.
