my LT headers & y pipe are flanged!!
my LT headers & y pipe are flanged!! I haven't been able to see if there is a machine stamped logo of the brand of long tube headers I have, but the guy I bought it from said they were Hooker long tubes.
Anyways, my story...
My brother and I were trying to install my new TSP 3" catted y pipe & GMMG catback this past week. Well, we were able to get the GMMG to bolt up to the 3" ORY, but we weren't able to get the new y pipe on. At the merge of the headers *where it bolts to the y pipe* is flanged. Not just straight, standard pipe... but like intentionally bent into a bigger circle... i.e. *flanged*. It's almost like a female & a male connector, if you get the idea. Therefore, my new TSP y pipe is NOT flanged like that, so we weren't able to bolt it up to the headers.
Now my questions...
1) Does anyone else have headers that bolt up like that??
2) Do these sound like Hooker headers?
3) Can I take it to a muffler shop to see if they could get the TSP y pipe to fit the headers???
