I don't think my knock sensors are a problem considering I'm managing 109 trap speeds in 90 degree temps where bone stock I was barely touching 100mph in the same temps. This is with my car spinning 1st and most of 2nd now on 315 tires and no tread...

I wouldn't touch them unless your car shows obvious signs of power loss either on a dyno or at the track.

would bad knock sensors allow any kinda noise to be made? i'm hearing a very light put put put sound coming from what seems to be the intake area. my car is a 98 but has the LS6 intake on.

Updated sensors: 12589867 x2
Updated harness: 12601822 x1
around $130.00 delivered.
This is what I ordered from SDPC2000.com. These are the correct and updated sensors.

i was told the the new harness for the new sensors had to be spliced in the engine harness

but i was also told it plugs in to the engine harness.

so to the ones who have done this was it a plug in or did you cut the old off and wire up the new one?

If you have the new ones they will have the part number stamped on them and the white part looks like these:
GM p/n 12589867

And if you have the old ones, they look like this:
GM p/n 10456222

whats your build date 98SS1LWEE? i would guess it would be safe to assume that any car made prior to his car will have the old sensors?

Yeah, mine was honestly a late build, so i have to say, i don't think there are a ton of 98's with the new ones, mine was built in 07/98! Went to SLP in Mid July

Hi

Any estimate of early vs late run dates? As I am just about to do an intake swap I should check my date code. Should I take mid 97? Or would a late run be in early 98? Thanks
