It's in the motor upside down above the starter.

Thanks Bill.
Question for some of you guys....
When replacing it, do you have to do anything with the engine (ie. hold it @ a specific RPM) to let the crank sensor calibrate or anything like that? Or is it more or less, replace it and you're done type deal?

It's plug and play. Bolt it and you're done

How do you know it went bad. Mine is no longer being read by the computer and has a code with auto tap. What would cause this problem also.

According to what I've read and seen, a SES code may appear from replacing the ECM or the Crank Position Sensor.

A "Crankshaft position relearn" that will relieve the SES light and code can only be done with a Tech II device (the dealer is probably the only place you'll be able to find one).

I had a problem with that code, turned out to be a bad ECM from Ed Wright. Once the ECM was replaced and flashed with the factory program the relearn was able to be successfully done and the code went away.

Happy driving,

I put a new crank sensor in my new motor and no codes were thrown. It was simple plug and play.
