"headers themselves dont make the difference"
Sure they do. Depends on where the bung is. My FLP headers would burn through O2 sensors like mad; my Stainless Works headers just now went through a set after 25K. As for long extensions, use the bosch 13111, comes with a VERY long wire on it. Autozone has them for $63. As far as the post about coated headers, he means burn some of the coating off using old O2's THEn run new ones later.

I have stock O2 sensors on my car for more than 5000 miles now with no problems. I went 3 weeks of daily driving, 20 1/4 mile runs and a lot of "spirited driving" before I got my tune.
My front passenger side was already failing before headers so I had to use a rear one on the front.
So I am using my driver's front and passenger rear as my 2 front O2 sensors on my car.
I have extensions which are plug in, no splicing.
My headers are QTP Stainless Steel with HVMC headers that have been ceramic coated.
It's no guarantee it will work for you but every bit helps I think.

It's not going to matter what brand of header you get

yeah i have the xs headers, and jet hot y pipe. I was getting codes for the front o2s not heating up enough a few months after my header install. And this was after a tune, but the codes went away when it started getting warm outside.
I probley also have a few exhuast leaks, im gonna get the xs ypipe soon.
