Default Need a little help understanding.

Ok well when i was workin on the Z lookin for problems cause my Z was a little dead it sound like it was sucking gas. I check for leaks and found I think a Pvc vavle its localed on driver side vavle cover. The hose was missing and could this be my problem of lack of performance?Could this cause a smell burning oil?
The Z is a 98 with 87,xxx miles on the clock and if i am in the wrong place tell were to post this.

Thanks Rob

Probably not causing a lack of performance. Mine is completely off til I do the LS6 valley pan conversion. It was crushed and deteriorating. It is leaking oil and stinks though. The stock stuff costs about $150 and the LS6 stuff cost me about $60. Of course it is a good excuse to replace the intake with an LS6 one at the same time. I have a 98 as well. Check this out.

How are you saying its not causing a lack of performance? It goes to the front of the manifold and if it is missing it would suck unmetered air in. Either replace the hose and pcv valve or cap them all off and throw a breather on the oil cap.

FWIW, the PCV valve is located on the passenger side valve cover.

It goes from the rear of the driver side valve cover to the middle of the passenger side valve cover to the front of the intake.

If you plug them all then you will have problems. The has to be some where for the crank pressure to go. If they are capped then it could blow out your rings.
