Default Catted Y-Pipe vs ORY?

Looking at various LT's, I came across some catted y-pipes and various ORY's. Now with emissions being of no concern....

Is there a noticeable sound difference in the catted y's vs ORs?

Is there less rasp with a catted y-pipe?

There is less rasp with the catted y pipe also you don't lose much hp at all with the cats. I have a catted y pipe sounds great with the gmmg catback.

Depends on if you need the cats for emmissions or not. Then it depends on how much of the actual motor you want to hear. If you are squeemish and don't like the way race cars and muscle cars sound put cats on. If you like that truely muscle car sound and you drool at the track when you hear top fuel cars rumble up to the line, then use ORY

An F body with Y pipe is not going to sound like a real muscle car with true duals even without cats. Much less a top fuel dragster.

The y pipe isn't the best. But they can sound decent with the right setup. I prefer cats. I think they sound better.

Then you should lose the v6 and get a V8.

I have a LS1, that is a V8. But it doesn't sound like a nitro methane motor.
