Default Pacesetter metal gasket

I just got my pacesetter longtubes in the mail. Everyone is telling me to get the oem gasket and dont use the paper pacesetter ones. Well the gaskets that came with mine are metal. Maybe pacesetter has changed there gaskets has anyone used these yet.

I heard about those metal gaskets just dont remember what. You might want to be safe and get the GM gaskets.

Pacesetter has been sending the copper gaskets for awhile now.

I used the copper ones on my Z28, and the stock ones on my GTO...no leaks with either one, so it's whatever you want. Also I used my stock header bolts.

I used the copper gaskets that came with the headers and I had a leak on the drivers side all the way in the back. Put in a GM paper gasket and problem was solved.

I didn't use them, I just went with what worked for countless others. the newer gaskets should work no problem, but I only wanted to do it once.

i say go with metal gasket, no matter who makes it. Most of the time when people install headers they just start tightening bolts. People dont realize that you have to tighten them from the inside out, so that they dont get leaks.

GM stock metal gasket dude. Anything else and you're risking putting in a new gasket soon after... especially if you put in one of those fiber (non-metal) gaskets.

Who sent you a copper one?? Pacesetter did, right? Either way try to get your hands on metal gasket from GM. If the copper one you're talking about is from GM go back to the stealership and see if they can get it in metal instead of copper.
