Default Just installed Borla Pro XS muffler

I just got my new Borla Pro XS muffler installed....it is the new one for the LS1 on my 2002 WS6. It sounds exactly the same as my stock muffler. I am sure it flows a little better, but if your looking for a different tone or sound level this is not the muffler for you. It is all stainless and only cost me $85.00. Don't get me wrong, I love it (this is what I was looking for...quiet) just thought it would have a different tone. I changed my tips too. So fro what ever ist is worth, a few extra horses hopefully, I am happy so far. The dealer said it would probably get a little louder over time as the glass insulator burns out.

Thanks for posting this. It's helping me make a decision. I wanted a more efficient exhaust system without the ridiculous noise. How and where does the Borla unit mount? Is it lighter? Where did you buy it? Most people that I've talked to, that had or currently have a loud exhaust system, say that it quickly gets old and tiresome. What brand of exhaust system did you go with to for the rest of it?

For a similar muffler swap, check out the Spintech. I'm swapping the stock SS muffler out (is it the same as the Z28's?) with a Spintech 3" dual outlet. Will post results. People at Spintech were real nice to deal with also.

I haven't done anything to the rest of the exhaust system. I haven't heard of any quiet headers out there. If anyone knows of any, let me know. Thanks. I called Borla and they gave me the number of a place in Florida that sent it to me, but I don't have the name in front of me. If you want me to find it, just email me and I will get it for you. They were extremely nice and shipment was fast! Don't know about the weight, probably close to the same. It also mounts into the exact space, you can connect existing system right to it.
