I call BS on that one. I am by no means a header expert, but that explanation is just lame. Since you bought from a QTP reseller, it may be a hassle, but I would tell them you want a set that doesn't have that ugly *** weld on there.

See that, nobody's perfect. All this heat about XS headers, and now we see that even the expensive ones aren't perfect.

As for the headers in question, I wouldn't be concerned about the weld in the primary. Several good long tube designs have welds in the primaries, and it doesn't affect flow in those cases at all.

those are definitely QTP's. the awesome merge collector gives it away. that being said...

if you can, i would strongly recommend sending them back and waiting. my headers have badges, don't have that big ugly weld and look A LOT nicer than that.

those are mine.

as you can see...it looks like you didn't get the best batch they've ever made i'd bitch until i got a new set. if they don't comply, RETURN THEM! then, do what i did: get them from thunder racing. i've dealt with TR 3 times and all 3 experiences have been incredible. easily one of the best, if not THE BEST companies out there. also, i had my headers TO MY DOOR in 3-4 business days incredible!

3 weeks is a SMALL waiting period for a better made set. of course, this is just my opinion.

I defenately feel like QTP is jerking me around now after seeing chaco's

headers. I called Fast Toys Performance and they called Barry after i did.

Barry told them all there headers in this batch have this same weld in the

same location as mine plus they have no badges. Barry told them if i want to

exchange them i will have to wait for this batch to sell out and he dont know

how long that could be. He also told him the next batch would have a weld in

the primary just not in the same spot . I think this is just plain BS

cause my header looks like a 2nd but i didn't order a 2nd plus who wants to

wait no telling how long just to possibly get a header that looks worst. If i

send them back for a refund they are still gonna charge me a 20% restocking

fee plus i gotta pay for shipping. Fast Toys Performance told me if i decided

to keep them they would give me $30 store credit and have QTP send me

badges when they get them in and i could have them welded on. Id be happy

if i could get a set that looks like chacos. Oh yea and they are still saying

that primary weld want hurt nothing but looks.

I think the weld in the primaries is garbage, but all the griping about the badge is ridiculous. You're not even going to see it when it's on the car. It's on the pass. side header!

Did you get the headers at a cheaper price at least?

Can't say I had any problems with my Kooks.

Geoge was supposed to send me some Kooks apparel, but never came through on it though.

To me the badge is a big deal. because no.1 i paid for them with a badge and 2 what if i need to sell them. I'm sure the resell will be real good with no badge and a big ugly weld in the primary.

for all the money those cost I would send them back, it seems they would perform fine and nothing looks wrong with them, BUT if I paid close to $800 for a set of QTP's I damn well better be getting a better looking header than that, those look more like XS headers which have welds in the primaries but hey they only cost $400 so its acceptable but not for $700+ headers

Well, if you paid TOP dollar for them, then you should be happy with what you got. The vendor could/should have told you, or QTP should have more consistency in their product.

I don't think I'll be recommending them to anyone.

Sounds like if you ordered them recently from the same batch, it will.

That's pretty shitty that QTP, or whoever builds those headers, is using their scrap steel to make their headers now. They make a killing off of those things as it is.

Of all the things to save a buck and make a big hassle and disappointment for their customers.

Guess I'll be going somewhere else for my e-cutout.

Hopefully they will - but most likely QTP isn't gonna do anything for you. My DS header looked wonderful and was correct, the PS header must have been done by the resident drunk. The air fitting hole wasn't drilled thru the primary, the head/header interface wasn't milled off all the way, the bolt hole spread was off (short) and wouldn't align with the head bolt holes even though they drilled the holes 1/16" diameter oversized, and finally the "slip fit" on the 4th primary leading into the merge collector was weged oversized by about 0.030 to 0.040" (read "hell of a gap"). I fixed it all myself, QTP's response was that I just didn't understand how parts work and that I didn't know what I was doing. At this point they directed me to go find a "professional" shop and let them explain it all to me.

Good luck to you, I hope your able to resolve your problems...

The way Barry just explained it to me was QTP's will look like this for the next 3 months and possibly forever but he said it didn't matter cause i'm the only person complaining about this new design. So i'm pretty sure your headers will look like mine but if they do or please post up pics so we can see.

Garbage! And it's false advertising. Those aren't the headers they advertise on their site.

I told Barry i paid for a header with primaries like in their picture on their site with no welds and he told me no i paid for QTP headers and thats what i got. I wish everyone who thinks this is BS would send QTP a message or call and tell them and tell them the thread on here your talking about cause he told me i was the only costumer complaining.

I would, but I'm not a customer. All I can do is not buy from them in the future.

I had no issues with Barry and QTP years ago when I got my QTP headers. Sorry to hear this....
